At OLBE Developments, sustainability is a core principle that guides every stage of our residential developments.  We are committed to delivering high-quality homes that balance modern comfort with environmental responsibility.

Our projects incorporate energy-efficient thoughts right from the initial concept question….

How can we reduce the running costs for the end user?

Fabric First

We strongly believe in a fabric first approach where buildings are super insulated incorporating Insulated rafts. Our preferred method of wall construction is ICF (insulated Concrete Construction) pioneered in Europe and NorthAmerica the product provides for both speed of construction; flexible external appearances Brick/stone/render/timber/metal and most importantly provides for super insulated detailing to all external openings. Flat or pitched roofs are also super insulated. By driving down the energy needs of a dwelling you can then think about bringing renewable technologies to the for. With these basic principals we can build close to passive standards on all new builds.

Renewable Technologies

We incorporate the latest renewable technologies to create longterm low energy solutions. Generally we incorporate electricity into all homes removing the need for direct fossil fuels in gas and oli. We have worked up relationships with market leading local business partners who share our visions and are brought into the design early in the process.

Daylighting/Artifical lighting
Important in any home is to promote the levels of natural lighting wherever possible; the use of double height entrances allow light to penetrate deep into the homes. Glazing Is all min double glazed and where required can be increased to triple glass to reduce further Uvalues. Internal lighting has to be LED to meet modern building regulations but by fitting rooms with movement sensors and duck till dawn sensors/timeclocks externally we can control the usage over a working day. Where possible we also install an all off switch at the final exit door to allow a simple switch off of all lights that may have been forgotten; perfect for th modern family.

We prioritize the use of locally sourced materials, advanced insulation systems, and renewable energy solutions to create homes that are both efficient and durable. Through careful planning and responsible building methods, we aim to contribute positively to the environment and the communities in which we build. Moreover we take pride in what is delivered; knowing where possible it is best in class.
